Ipods, Ipads, Cds, etc. all seem to be part of our everyday lives now. As technology progresses, gadgets containing our personal music selections seem to be more the rage. How does the music you listen to effect your life?

I can remember back to my high school graduation song, “School’s Out – Forever” by Alice Cooper. We rocked that song the last few weeks of school on our car radios, in the exercise fields and across the school campus. Boy were we glad that 12 years of our lives were over and the song said it well.

Music has always been a passion of mine and with the creation of the Ipod it seems to have taken over even more of my life. Whether I am on the treadmill, taking a sunny afternoon walk or working around the house, my trusted Zune is at work playing my favorite music to help pass the time.

Music seems to mark special events in our lives today such as the song you and your loved one shared, music for your wedding or a song that pumps you up and gets you going. Most people have a passion for music, just as I do. It affects the way we feel, act and more importantly how we perceive life. Just think about going to a movie with only talking and no music, how boring!

I ran across an interesting concept concerning music, other people’s passions and technology recently. Haagen-Dazs, you know the great ice cream company, has created a new talk-show focused on people’s passions. The episodes are called Passion Profiles, an original online series featuring some of Canada’s most intriguing personalities. Passion Profiles, is a talk-show that takes a unique and rare glimpse at the authentic and demanding passions that define some of Canada’s finest Chefs, Designers and Musicians.
